Here’s the questions I received from Shanley:
What inspired you to start blogging?
Having a platform for creative output was a big reason I started blogging. On the scale of extrovert-introvert I’m somewhere in between and I’m better in writing than talking, so blogging seemed a great activity to invest time in. It’s fun and leaves me so much freedom. I have time to think about what to “say” or show and that is comforting, plus I like to post stuff that might inspire or help others. ♥
If you knew you had one last day here in the physical world, what would you do?
Phew. Wow, well…It’s a sad but at the same time beautiful thought. I’m only 23. But I had to experience that sometimes people don’t even live to see their 50th birthday. I would call everyone in my close circle to tell them how much I appreciate them and tell them things that I love about them and little cute habits they have. And tell them to make the right decisions. I would travel home to my family and… no. This thought actually breaks my heart but other than that, I would also eat good sushi and be dramatic and deep. Haha, I know…weird.
What is your biggest goal/dream and why?
Earning a living with writing. I want to write a fictional book one day and I hope many will like it. Not for the reason of being famous for it, I just like the idea of writing something that people would like and appreciate. I have this dream of comfortably working from home in a nice apartment perhaps in a canal house or houseboat in Amsterdam or a nice little house close to water and doing what I love because I’d hate to be in a 9-5 job for the rest of my life, victim to a never-ending boredom. People should be able to live off of doing what they love to do.
Why do you travel?
I travel for the beauty of the world, the beauty of people and for the stories I hear and the stories I make. The joy of leaving pieces of me everywhere I go by creating memories with others. I travel to let my heart be broken by beauty and the perfection in imperfection.
If money was non-existent, what would you do?
Connect and spend time with people, love and help people because relationships matter so much more than making money. I’d travel more and appreciate life for what it is and do fulfilling things.
What do you stand for?
Authenticity, Honesty, Love and Faith.
What is one of your passions you hold close to your heart?
My sister. Can it be my sister? Whatever, I’m making it possible right now. 😀 She’s THE human thing worth living for in my life. Writing, archery, drawing and music – none of these are as much a biggie like my little squishy that I love more than I can express.
Any advice for newbie bloggers?
Don’t let yourself be discouraged and don’t change things too much into things you like in other blogs. Rock your individuality because you are 1 of a kind. There is no one like you. Be yourself and stay active for the sake of staying active and because you like it. Not because you have to or because you gotta “make this blog work and get followers”. It’ll come naturally if you are passionate and confident about what you do.
What is your favourite “Life” Quote?
“And every day, the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! And this is important! And this is important! You need to worry about this! And this! And this!” And each day, it’s up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, “No. This is what’s important.” – Iain Thomas
What’s the funniest lesson you’ve learned in your life?
It was my first birthday when I had to learn that I can’t take the flame off of the burning candle and that it’s very hot.
Hope you guys liked these questions and if you’d like to know more, feel free to comment or message on social media!
